My mom has always been a great mom. She came to the United States with my sister and I in 2003. Although it was a big change having to move across the world she adapted pretty well. I even remember when she carried me on her back when we first came from the airport because I fell asleep. My mom went to two different schools trying to learn English. She would go to school from one to three and take another class from four to six and go to work from seven to twelve o clock. I have never seen any one that studies as much as my mom studies. Even if she didn't have to study she would stay up all night trying to understand every thing in the book and now she speaks English as well as me. My mom told me that moving to the United States was not easy because she was so used to Ethiopia. She had lived in Ethiopia for thirty six years and to get up and move never to live there any more was heart breaking for her. Even though she knew that she would miss her family she was dedicated to finding a better environment and education for me and my sister.
